JENSEN
RADER
Director of News & Digital Content
at iHeartMedia
Born and raised in Northern California, I am a native to Folsom, a suburb of Sacramento, where I currently reside. I spent several years living in Chico while I attended California State University, Chico for my undergraduate studies. Now, I am currently pursing my masters degree in communication and leadership through Gonzaga University's online graduate program.

I have been with iHeartMedia in Sacramento since 2019, starting as an overnight board operator and promotions assistant for the market, then moved into the newsroom as a part-time digital writer and producer for the news radio station KFBK. By early 2020, I took my first full time job as the KFBK Morning News Executive Producer working along side some of the best journalists in the business. For over a year, I served that team, working a grueling 2am morning shift during a historic pandemic, state enacted curfews, and riots. In the last 18 months, I've been the acting department head for digital news content and recently took up the new role of Director of News and Digital Content for KFBK.

My passions outside of work include hiking, traveling, wine tasting, going to concerts, watching movies, and reading. I am a self-proclaimed foodie who is always looking for the next new place to try in Sacramento and beyond. My favorite way to spend the weekends are shopping at local farmers markets, checking out local coffee shops, or attending fitness classes like yoga or pilates. I fit the stereotype of a "typical Californian" because I love trying the latest food, fitness or health trend and always have an iced coffee in hand.

GET TO KNOW ME BETTER...

AS A FOODIE
Gathering with friends or family over dinner or drinks is one of my favorite things to do. I love exploring my community and finding our new favorite place. I love coffee so I am constantly trying new coffee shops or just go back to my favorite shop in my neighborhood to read or catch up on work. I believe food and drink is a universal connector between humans across all cultures, and exploring the cuisine is one my favorite ways to learn about other cultures.
AS A TRAVELER
Traveling is something I want to do more of as I've only been out of the country a few times. This picture is from my quick trip to Vancouver, Canada pre-pandemic. This trip was a month before everything changed in the world. The shutdowns and travel restrictions showed me how much I value being able to experience other cultures and see the world. The summer of 2022 was my first time leaving the continental U.S. and my first cruise, where I traveled to the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. 2023 was an epic year of travel for me. I went to my first European country for a Gonzaga study abroad experience. From there, I went on a dream trip to Germany, Italy, Croatia and Greece.

AS A MEDIA JUNKIE
Live music is a huge passion of mine and I am so grateful each time I get to see an artist from my bucket list. Being part of a media and entertainment company like iHeartMedia, I get so many chances to see my favorite artists, new artists, and other live experiences when they come to town. Working in news, I also have to constantly stay plugged into the latest, news and pop culture.
