The Curiosity Coup Podcast

This podcast will analyze, highlight, and embolden the concept of being an active global citizen. The limited release podcast series titled “The Curiosity Coup” aims reach a younger demographic to showcase concepts that may be considered unapproachable. The episodes will break down those complexities to make them more relevant and palatable to the average American. Using real world examples through news clips, expert interviews, and virtual forums, I hope to showcase the current geopolitical landscape, illustrate the importance of being plugged-in to current events, and tie it back to observations that may be experienced while traveling. I also want to explore the concept of media literacy and ethics in journalism with tips for how to navigate misinformation in the online world of news and social media. The podcast format was chosen to encourage participatory listening and appeal to a younger demographic through an on-demand and at your own pace style artifact. Each clip was selected not only for the content within the messaging, but also for what the person may represent. My background with audio engineering and journalism is a motivator for the editorial decisions and audio engineering heard within the podcast. While it will not be publicly distributed, hypothetically the episodes would be available to everyone with access to outlets like Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
